Four fields make a plan.
Pick day, week, month or year and a count, add a free trial, and choose what the buyer gets each period.

A set rule for when to stop waiting.
A plan Shoppex bills gets a renewal invoice, a grace window and a cancel rule. Stripe and PayPal plans follow their own retries.
- 7 days of graceAn unpaid renewal invoice is voided after the grace window, or when its period ends if that comes first. The plan stays past due until the buyer pays.
- Two in a rowWhen the last two renewal invoices were both voided, Shoppex cancels the plan.
- Stripe and PayPal keep their own rulesThe provider retries the charge, and the buyer keeps access while it does.
Not every renewal has to be a card.
A buyer who paid in coin the first month can pay in coin the second. Every renewal is an invoice you can see.

- Refund to store credit
With refunds to store credit turned on, give the last payment back as balance on your shop. Nothing goes back to their card, PayPal or wallet.
- Change plan
Move a Stripe subscription to another plan of the same product and interval, with no proration.
What buyers do without asking you.
The customer portal lists a buyer's plans with the next billing date and the billing history.

The buyer keeps access to the end of the period they paid for. PayPal plans end right away.

Do subscriptions cost extra?
No. Recurring products are on the Free plan. A renewal is a sale like any other, so Free takes 2% and Business takes 0%. The payment lands in your own account.
Who retries a failed card?
Stripe and PayPal, for the plans they bill. Shoppex does not run its own retries on those. Plans Shoppex bills get a renewal invoice instead, and the buyer can pay it until the grace window closes or the period ends.
Can I sell keys on a subscription?
No. A subscription delivers a message, a file or a webhook response each period. Sell keys as a Keys product.
Can a buyer switch to another plan?
Not on their own. You change the plan from the dashboard or the API, on Stripe subscriptions, within the same product and interval.
Charge them again next month.
Add a Subscription product, pick the interval and publish. Reminders follow, and plans Shoppex bills get the grace window and the cancel rule.
